word,
slick is the word.
i have nothing bad to say about this.
do more live guitar chap; is good.
good all rounder tis, rolls along easily. makes me think of the labyrinth when missy is running down that track talking to talking catterpilla(?) and that.

thanks for another review Pedro/Ped/Px, glad to have you back on NG :)
glad you like the guitar! i love the guitar bits in your tracks by the way; simple, but very tasteful and get the job done at adding some auxillary rhythmic and melodic diversity. I actually started making a track quite a while back, inspired by your style, think I'll try my hand at adding guitar to it and see how it goes...
ahh, and its always good to hear when my music makes people think of odd occurrences, thanks for sharing :P

oi oi,
good to see you're still on it. nice pacey dubby 2 steppyness here, good full sound, lovely pallet of sounds; electro dubby liquid stranger godspeed you black emperor shizzle. fuk yeah bois. this really gets cooking in the mid section. I was with the earlier reviewer about the pace change towards the end at first but a few listens and it sits fine... one to be proud of.
will be posting again soon myself. check check and a well deserved 5 stars

Thanks a ton man, I think this one turned out nicely :)

Where have you been though? Can't wait to hear some new stuff from you!

yo bro, wicked mate. just trying to finish a track myself here and thought I would have a sniff about here to see if there were any old faces about. and here we are, your good self with a review from the majestic pitters and the indefinable sinerider, woot woot. co-incidence there seems you ain't posted since around I did last.
this sounds great mate. one i'd like to have churned out. haven't made anything worth listening to myself for years. I think I may have my mojo back tho, will post a track hopefully in the next week. will check you then.
respect amigo, hope life is treating you with a modicum of graciousness and loveliness.

much overdue.

1st half reminds me of aphex. production is good. no solution chap; i haven't finished a track in years. is very hard to be subjective when listening to your own music. plus it sounds different if you're in a different mood/state of mind. go forth amigo

johnfn responds:

the first half reminds you of... APHEX TWIN? are we listening to the same song? and the same aphex twin? lol. to be fair i only listened to SAW I so maybe I could be missing something? PM me a link to one of their songs maybe.

thanks for the review though. maybe i shouldn't be asking you how to finish songs since you seem to have much more trouble with it than i. haha.

nice slicey breaks here. is always fun. the piano cuts are a favourite of mine. add some real ambience here. wonky synth is cool. the structure of that mid part is great. the beat lacks a little punch to my drunken ears, maybe the lead synth is too high, dunno, the beat seems a little hidden at the end. my ears are mashed however. really good'yun tho, good energy, catchy, well done. 4 and a half because you can prolly do better.

johnfn responds:

Thanks for dropping by and reviewing. I think you're right about the beat, I wasn't quite sure how to do DnB I guess. Actually relistening to it you're exactly right, the beat needs WAY more presence in the second half. IDK what I was thinking. Well, at least I'll know now for next time.

I really like your justification for 4.5 over 5. I need you to pretty much say the thing on all of my new songs so that I can constantly be pushed to do better. thanks a lot for the review and dropping by.

holla

easy boot,
just clocked your review for overcock so thought i'd do the courtesy of checkin one of yours.
seriously ghetto track. got a great mood and vibe to it.
flows really well; some real nice change ups.
I agree in part with jackrocker in the sense that maybe dropping parts in and out may add to the interest and dynamics as well as giving a vocalist some guide/ideas for a flow.
anyhoos, will definately check your other stuff later. have started to dip my toe back in the pool myself so i may have some more noise for your listening soon.
good luck amigo

Excellent. I can't wait to hear your new stuff.

alright chappy,
not my bag, a little too 4 to the floor for my pallette. production sounds well crisp to my ears. interesting and effective use of rhythm, a lot more going on in that department than a lot of trance on newgrounds. don't know much about this style so i have no tips in that respect and my production level is kinda shit so no tips there. good show.

just read the review below, the percussion at the beginning worked fine, some peoples ears just aren't used to stuff that doesn't hit crack on the beat...
