not exactly subtle...

aye,
sounded super budget but was quite funky and had some nice ideas abound, whatever, keep at it soldier

DJ-Draken responds:

Yeah, I think the bass was the best part of this song. It is an old song, so I didn't know many techniques in the program. I'll hopefully get around to making it sound better and stuff.

Thanks for stopping by.

nicely nicely

has a real retro gamish feel to this. the structure is well thought out, moves along really well. levels are all pretty good, an all round solid track, good show

Yay! Yes, this song can be played people. The last guy had a faulty page, so the download was only broken temporarily.

Thanks for the review, and yes, retro was exactly what I was going for. Great!

plink plink plink plink

quite dramatic stuff once it gets going. piano arpegios sound good. i like the vowely synth too. where it dropped out into just the piano i really wanted it to go a different direction, like a bass line in a different key coming in to completely change the tone of the track.
still, good job

WritersBlock responds:

Cheers. I think a change would have been really cool and dynamic, but I just wanted to go for a simple soundscape type thing. I'd like to do more of this style, it's quite enjoyable to write.

fuk valentines day

buffering... my favourite version of this is by bill evans and jim hall, a cut that didn't make the final of undercurrent, it is the absolute shit, dunno if you've heard it, message me if you wanna.
this is really nice, quite understated and layed back, just the way it should be. how long have you been playing out of interest?
do you record any original stuff or is it all reworks? if you don't, you should. if you do, post some, would be very interested to hear em.
well done LV

not blown over by the production on this, string/pad seem a bit out of place. the rhodes/ lectric piano sounds freakin gorgeous, would have liked to hear that a bit further forward in the mix. sax is gorgeous tho, nice work. k, just seen my funny valentine, gonna check that next:)

i prefer lester young:///////

haha, great version of a lush standard, good show.
i've been trying to get on it, i started playing sax a month ago and i just got me a clarinet too. gonna check out blue bossa in a sec, see how a pro plays alto:/ yeh, check out cargo linear of mine if you get the chance, worlds apart stylistically from this but it has my 2 week old sax skills and also dingleberry i did last night which is just a cheap little thing with some layered sax.
anyhoo, never really checked out the jazz on NG and i must say, you are shit hot.
go team
